So we just finished reading up about the Japanese and how during WWII they were required to stay in the Interment camps. I was thinking the other day how weird that was, and here's why:
So WWII... Basically, we noble Americans stood for Democracy, and giving everyone a vote. We wanted to create a land of the free. And we hated the idea of the Nazi regime. The Nazis were bad people! I mean come on, they were putting Jews in concentration camps! There is something very wrong about detaining and mistreating a whole people just because of who they are or what they believe in... right? Well, apparently a bunch of other countries agreed with us, and formed the "Allies." Then, all the bad guys went and became part of the "Axis." So here we are, Allies vs. Axis, WWII here we come. The Axis, with the Nazis, and their concentration camps, against the Allies, with noble America... and their internment camps... I mean what the hell! So what is the difference? I mean really?
Well lets see, we read about the internment camps, and how the Japanese were nearly starved, lived in poor living conditions, and were in some cases forced to work to help monitor their own people. Well, now lets have a look at the concentration camps that the Jews lived in... they were nearly starved, and lived in terrible living conditions, and were forced to work (in many cases) for the Nazis who were detaining them. Now of course we weren't killing off the Japanese, but aren't these things almost the same?
Another great example of "America the brave" showing the world what they are really made of.
