....that I cannot put my finger on. During our reading of his story in Takaki, and also in Bold Words, I found my pulse rising, my fingernails being bitten even faster than usual, and the temperature of my room rising.... Slightly. Carlos Bulosan quickly became a huge inspiration to me, and I still can't quite put my finger on it. Typically when somebody has an idol, it's a person they can relate to in some way. Maybe there is something that I can relate to with Carlos Bulosan, but I have no clue.... sort of. Anyway, I'm glad to have read some of his work, and also to have read about his life, and the hardships he endured; but enough of all this sappy talk! You want information, correct? Here! Take it!

There's some brief information about him in there, including some quotes, and apparently information about his memorial exhibit which is in Seattle. FIELD TRIP!
Jordan,
ReplyDeleteI think what's great about Bulosan is his directness. He seems to be flat-out honest about his experiences.
