Today's Video Response

The video we watched in class today was very sad.  A innocent Indian American man was murdered just because of his appearance (he wore a turban and had a beard).  His murderer had no right to kill because not all Indian Americans who were the turban and have a big beard work for Osama Bin Laden or are terrorists.  I think that it is important that people have an understanding of other cultures and religious practices before other people make judgments and stereotype other just because they look different or act differently than the norm.  Another thing about the murder of the Indian American man was that he was just trying to become assimilated to American culture.  Because of his religion and belief he has to wear the turban.  Many people did not want to let go of their culture and belief when they came to America.  They just wanted a better life but their life in America was not crystal clear like they thought it would be.
