MLK
Although I didn't go to the march, I was thinking today about the different struggles each culture has to go through to be accepted by others. Ultimately, each race has different stereotypes and assumptions to overcome, and if we're being honest, it's very difficult to understand and empathize if you don't go through it yourself. This is shown through the civil rights struggle. Today we commemorate the hardships that Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and countless others suffered through to bring us the future we live in today. We can only imagine the lives they lived. Just as in the internment camps, and the hardships the Chinese went through when they first arrived in America, these people suffered to give their upcoming generations a brighter future. It makes me think, what are we doing today to give our children a better future?
